Red bull v Tottenham

Positive Signs Come From Defeat

After Thursday night’s 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur, fans can at least take some positives from the fact that the team played well, with forward Macoumba Kandji going the full 90 minutes and consistently posing problems for there opponents. Even as they tried to equalize, the Red Bulls rarely looked outclassed by Tottenham. Thierry Henry didn't disappoint a crowd of more than 20,000 who came to see his big MLS debut. The Red Bulls' new star scored the first goal in the first half but goals by Robbie Keane in the 62nd minute & then Gareth Bale 10 minutes later turned a Red Bulls lead into a final 20 minutes of trying to equalize.Despite New York losing 2-1 to Tottenham in the opening match of the Barclays New York Challenge at the " Red Bull Arena " on Thursday New York showed they could play.Red Bulls next take on Manchester City on Sunday in their second game of the tournament.
