Hans Backe began managing soccer clubs in his home country,Sweden,back in 1982-with a little
known club named Djurgårdens with him they won the title of the second division with a total
of 38 wins,with only 12 defeats. After winning the Swedish first division with Osters in 1989
he moved on to numerous clubs in Sweden before moving on to Denmark,taking Aalborg to
league glory,winning the Danish Supaliga and taking the cub to two Danish Cup finals in
two years.
In 2006 he managed Panathinaikos,but was sacked after just three games and moved to
England,to become assistant manager of Manchester City but had to resign his position and
return home after a spate of family problems. In 2009 he was offered a job a Notts County
but again resigned,this time with accusations of non payment of wages.
Then in January of this year,signed a deal to become manager of Red Bull New York...the saga
continues
