Manchester City slumped to a 2-0 defeat in their pre-season tour game against Sporting Lisbon at New York's Red Bull Arena.
Roberto Mancini's side was showing of players such as Emmanuel Adebayor, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Gareth Barry, Yaya Toure & Kolo Toure & had no answer to the two first half goals by Yannick Djalo who sealed the victory for the Portuguese team.
City's second game in the Barclays New York Challenge is against host side the Red Bulls this Sunday.
